Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs

July 17, 2009

Summary

Partnering with TVA, Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative offers rebates for new and existing homes. Cash incentives are offered to the new homeowner through the energy right® program. Points on a computer software program rate each home. This computer software program rates the energy efficiency of a new home based on certain features. If the home is all-electric with a high-efficiency heat pump installed by a SMEC certified contractor, Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative and the Tennessee Valley Authority will pay the homeowner a cash incentive. Existing homes that install a high-efficiency heat pump or a high-efficiency water heater with a SMEC contractor may also be eligible for a rebate. Consumers may only qualify for one heat pump or water heater rebate per year, per home.
