Jonesboro City Water & Light (CWL) offers rebates for energy efficient air conditioning units, heat pumps, and heat pump water heaters. Rebates are limited to equipment that is to be for permanent installation in an existing residence, business, church, or school that will have an active meter receiving CWL electric service and will be paying CWL rates. New construction is not eligible for rebates. Air conditioners are eligible for a $100/ton rebate, air-source heat pumps are eligible for a $150/ton rebate, dual fuel heat pumps are eligible for a $200/ton rebate, and geothermal heat pumps are eligible for a $300/ton rebate. These rebates are limited to 25 tons per location. A $200 rebate is also available for the purchase of a new ground source heat pump water heater. Interested customers should download the application form from the program website, fill it out, get it signed by their plumber and/or HVAC contractor, and turn it into the utility within 90 days of the project completion.
