City of Lompoc Utilities - Residential Refrigerator Energy Efficiency Programs

May 27, 2008

Summary

City of Lompoc Utilities offers an incentive for its residential customers to safely dispose of their old refrigerators through three separate rebate programs. The Refrigerator Replacement Program offers $120 paid as a $10 per month credit on the utility bill if the customer allows the city to properly dispose of their working, full size refrigerator, manufactured before 1992, in the city landfill. The Refrigerator Buy-Back Program will provide $35 and free pick-up and disposal at the landfill for any working refrigerator being used in a home. And through the Income Qualifying Refrigerator Replacement Program the city will award new refrigerators (costing up to $570) to qualifying households with working refrigerators manufactured before 1992. The low-income residents will have to pay back the city $20 per month for one year.
