San Diego Gas and Electric (SDGE) natural gas incentives have been suspended in September due to the State of California 2011-2012 Fiscal Year Budget (SB87) provision that authorizes a transfer of funds from the Gas Public Purpose Program (PPP) Fund to the State General Fund. Pending a decision from the CPUC, projects that have not been postmarked or received a post-installation inspection prior to July 22, 2011 will not be given incentives. SDGE's Home Energy Upgrade Financing program to its residential customers interested in making energy efficient improvements to their homes. Customers can qualify for loans ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to purchase and install energy-efficient upgrades. Terms range from one to ten years. Eligible technologies include: Water heaters, refrigerated air conditioners, evaporative coolers, double-paned windows, building and equipment insulation, roofing, spa/pool heaters, insulated plantation shutters, and permanently installed natural gas barbecues.
The financing for these loans is offered by Viewtech, an authorized Fannie Mae loan administrator.
