MidAmerican Energy's Custom Systems Program offers businesses within its distribution region rebates or financing on the purchase and installation of building systems equipment in existing buildings. These incentives are for large space heating and cooling systems and control systems and other measures not addressed in other EnergyAdvantage programs. Rebate level for custom energy efficiency projects will be customized based upon the equipment's incremental cost, peak demand reduction, annual energy use reduction and annual energy cost savings. To participate in this program submit a proposal to MidAmerican for pre-approval, indicating either financing or rebate. MidAmerican Energy also offers assistance in designing energy efficiency projects to meet individual customer's needs.
Examples of energy-efficient equipment that may qualify for financing or rebates are:
Boilers over 2.5 million Btu input capacity;
Ground-source heat pump systems 135 million Btuh or greater;
Premium-efficiency motors over 200 HP;
Process boiler, chiller and refrigeration improvements;
Energy management systems;
Direct-fired heating systems;
Thermal energy storage;
