It is part of the Efficiency United and Energy Smart Programs run by Franklin Energy Xcel Energy offers rebates, assistance and other incentives through the Efficiency United program, which is a partnership between 11 Michigan utilities. The program is intended to provide assistance and incentives to customers who install or employ energy efficient equipment or measures which save money and energy at home and at work. The Energy Star Appliance Rebate Program for electric customers is one part of this energy efficiency consortium. Xcel offers rebates on CFL bulbs, smart power strips, and energy star clothes washers. Separate information and forms for electric and gas customers are available on the program web site listed above. The Residential HVAC Program for electric customers provides incentives for installing energy efficient central air conditioning units and ECM blower motors. Incentives will be provided to the home owner and will be based on fulfilling energy efficiency standards.
