Four County Electric Membership Corporation offers its Comfort Loan Program to help its residential members increase the energy efficiency of their homes. Loans up to $3,000 are available for insulation and/or replacement windows and doors, and $5,000 for an all-electric high-efficiency (13 SEER) heat pump or central air conditioning unit. To qualify, the property must be the member's primary residence, and must be titled in the member's name. Energy efficiency improvements can be installed by the home owner and will be inspected by the Energy Marketing Representative upon completion. Four County EMC also offers a separate loan of up to $600 for the purchase and installation of a Vaughn Storage Water Heater. The loans can be paid off in as many as 24 months.
