City of Richland Energy Services offers two programs to promote the use of solar power. The solar rebate program provides $500 for every kilowatt (kW) of installed solar (within the City's service area) up to 5 kW, for a maximum rebate of $2,500. Alternately, customers may choose to take advantage of the low-interest, 10-year loan for $5,000 per kW installed, not to exceed $15,000. Customers can take either the rebate or the loan.
