Snohomish County PUD No 1 provides loans to help its residential customers finance energy efficient home improvement projects. The minimum loan amount is $1,000 and the money can be used for floor, ceiling, or wall insulation; insulated windows; and/or a heat pump. Work must be completed by a PUD-registered installer, or by the home owner to PUD specifications. The loan term is up to 10 years with no prepayment penalty and a minimum monthly payment of $50. Homes with more than three stories and/or four residential dwelling units are not eligible for this program. All measures must be pre-approved before work is started. Snohomish County PUD No 1 also offers a variety of conservation rebates for residential customers who make energy efficient improvements to homes.
