The Wisconsin Focus On Energy program has partnered with Energy Finance Solutions to offer low-interest loans for qualifying Home Performance with Energy Star and Efficient Heating and Cooling improvements. The program offers unsecured loans of $2,500 to $20,000 with a fixed interest rate of up to 18.75% with loan terms of 3, 5, 7, or 10 years. Participants that install Home Performance measures must first have a home assessment performed by a certified Home Performance consultant in order to qualify for this program. In addition, all improvements must meet minimum efficiency standards and installations must be performed by a program-approved contractor.
This program is only available for owner-occupied single-family and duplex homes. Customer eligibility is determined by the customer's electric and gas provider. The Focus on Energy website has an Eligibility Tool to help customers determine the programs for which they are eligible. Loans under this program involve no fees, points, or closing costs and there is no penalty for prepayment.
Information on the requirements and process for becoming an approved contractor is available on the program web site.
